FENSA takes the unauthorised use of our brand very seriously, especially when it could mislead consumers. If you see the FENSA logo being used on a website, marketing materials, or documents and are not certain the installer is FENSA Approved, it’s important to check before proceeding.
Step 1: Verify the installer
Only FENSA Approved Installers are listed on our website.
If you can’t find the installer, ask them for their 5-digit FENSA ID and use this to search for the company on our site.
If you still cannot locate the installer but they are claiming to be FENSA Approved, or are using the FENSA brand in advertising, you should report it to us so we can investigate.
Step 2: Gather evidence
To help us investigate, we need evidence of misuse. Acceptable examples include:
Marketing materials or brochures with the FENSA logo
Websites displaying the FENSA logo or claiming FENSA approval
Consumer documents referencing FENSA
-
Emails showing the installer’s company name (we cannot accept generic addresses such as @gmail, @hotmail, or @yahoo)
Note: We cannot investigate claims based on verbal evidence alone, including recorded calls.
Step 3: Submit your report
Complete this FORM to provide all relevant details and upload your evidence. This ensures we have everything we need to investigate efficiently.
What happens after you report misuse?
FENSA will review the information and investigate the claim.
If the installer is confirmed not FENSA Approved, they will be asked to remove all FENSA references within 7 days.
If references are not removed, FENSA will escalate the matter to Trading Standards and support their investigation.
The full process can take 28 days.
Updates on your report
We cannot share communications between FENSA and the company.
Once escalated to Trading Standards, we cannot provide additional updates beyond confirming the escalation.
