An Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) is a type of indemnity insurance purchased by your installer on your behalf. It protects you in the unlikely event that your installer ceases trading and there’s an issue with your installation that would have been covered under the installer’s warranty.
IBGs are sometimes also called warranty insurance or guarantee insurance policies.
If your installer is FENSA Approved and the work falls within FENSA’s remit, it is mandatory that you receive:
A FENSA certificate for the completed installation
An IBG policy providing additional peace of mind
